Cool, model making you get paid for!
I'm ex-army......then was a full-time fireman in the UK before I was offered a job in Central Europe project managing for a company building and commissioning Bio-Diesel production plants all over Europe, Eastern Europe (even built a couple in Uzbekistan, Ukraine and Siberia). I did the Bio thing for six years out here, but retired last year (at the ripe old age of 39!) as I have my first child (that I know of anyway) a daughter ...Nikkita, who I live and breathe for, and I want to spend as much time as possible with. I occasionally do consultancy-work for a company in Switzerland (just to show willing), but my main thing now is teaching Parachuting at the weekends, or as a skydive "driver" at a couple of airfields.
I DO at times miss being a Fireman though (Hurling 16 tonnes of big red truck around the streets with the lights and music on at 03:00 AM was fabulous fun.....loved almost every minute of it..........but scraping up body-parts at RTA's I DON'T miss at all)...............I totally DO NOT miss living in the UK though, I was totally horrified, disgusted and not really surprised at the recent riots!

I work as a Public Drinking Water Distribution System and Water Treatment Operator. The agency I work for serves a city with a population of around 250000. We have 28000 accounts, 12 reservoirs, and over 800 miles of pipeline. The hours are odd at times when unusual situations or water main breaks occur. We serve as first responders on a 24 hour rotation for a week about every 2 months. I am also a backflow device tester and a cross connection specialist.
It CAN be - WINTER is the best time (first winter here we were down to minus 35 degrees C!!!) However.............go to some small towns in Eastern Slovakia and it's like going back to 1918! There's one town in particular where the special dish is sausages made from DOG!
It's like any country really.....there are good people and bad people. It can be at times wonderfully corrupt - but sometimes horribly corrupt.....they just haven't learned to paint over the corruption as well as we have in the UK!
However.............two HUGE plus marks for the place - the Gun-laws (anything is legal.......just as long as the local Police KNOW about it (but that doesn't really matter as the Police have to make an appointment to search your house?!?!?!).........and there are still a LOT of undiscovered WWII items lurking just about everywhere, junk-shops, rubbish tips, the forests, antique shows, people's garages etc etc!
I like the ''anything is legal part''
Wish it was the same here.
Looking for the photo albums of Leutnant Emil Freitag, 3. / G.R. 377
EVERYTHING really IS legal.........until you get caught!
Last year....some idiot in Eastern Slovakia found a Bunker in an overgrown part of a forest STACKED floor to ceiling with crated german weapons and ammo, couple of helmets, some engineers kit........most in tip-top condition ALL undisturbed since it was put there. First thing he did?..............REPORTED it to the POLICE..............and most of it got melted-down/ destroyed.....it was all over the news stations here - I openly wept for days!
I work in a warehouse that stocks/rents vending machines all over southern California, my days consist of moving around pallets full of the items youd find in a vending machine. Not my future career plan, but im only 20 so ive got some time to figure my life out!
