Nice one, Jan. Did you got it from the vet, or his family?

I got it from the vet´s grandson, late grandmother was in the "Lotta" organisation and situated in Kutsa region in Eastern Lappland. I´m getting her two diaries tomorrow (paid and sold for). Nice covers on those don´t you agree, there seems to have been a short romance there with a Nord soldier

Makes me wonder, did the Finns view the fights after the "Moscow Armistice", in the same romantic kind of way?
Nice covers indeed, Jan.
Well the bitter fighting against the "Kameraden" in the north is a sad chapter at the end of the war. But soldiers do what they are told I suppose. Burning down almost all of Finnish Lappland I guess was totally unnecessary but there´s been very little research on that. Actually the burning of Rovaniemi might have been caused by Finnish artillery fire....
Hi,
My Newest buy is this trench club, it is 18" long to the top point,
it has a few dings and scrapes. It has been varnished at some time
i have cleaned the metal to preserve it. It also has cracks in the wood i think this is why it was varnished !. It has no unit marks
at all, and im not sure what country it is from. but not bad i think for £25.00.
dave.
Geez...wouldn't want to be on the end of that Trench club....yowser ;-)
Jimbo
I bought this nice lw jacket...
There was no other place but that one to take this shot ?
Is there a thread with your caps collection?
Why is the eagle sewn on to the pocket?
