Article about: Hi guys, forgive me if this is already mentioned elsewhere but, if not? I was wondering what your newest militaria purchase was. Mine include a nice General Assault Badge, another War Merit

Re the Pith helemt. Sorry Jan I must respectfully disagree with you here. The pith helmet is fine and just lacks it's chinstrap. Nothing else wrong with it.

    Cheers, Ade.
Oopps..No offence taken, I´d better stick with what I know best, being stuff associated with the wars in Finland

Some good buys there Frank. I like the simplicity of design of the pole top, yet it makes a striking peice.

Hopefully I will have a couple of new items to show myself in this thread next week.

    Cheers, Ade.

Thanks Ade. Here's the Fahnlienfahne I just bought to display with the topper. Thanks to Wim Saris for the information regarding the location of the Jungbann.

In the earliest stage the name for the Bann from the HY was Altena-Olpe (August 1, 1933), it's headquarters were at the castle of Altena in the middle of the town, changed in name as Altena with its headquarters at Lüdenscheid about March 1935. For the HY the color piping was blue.

Jungbann 1/143 had the name Lenne-Volme with headquarters first at Werdohl and later at Lüdenscheid. The name was later changed as Altena with its headquarters still at Lüdenscheid. The number 1/ disappeared in about August 1937.
For a short while (late 1933) also Jungbann 2/143 with the name Olpe existed in the earliest stage, its headquarters were at Plettenberg, but before the introduction of the shoulder-straps the number was cancelled.
