The Collings Foundation (Google it) is non-profit US company, has several WWII era aircraft (B-17, B-24, B-25 and a P-51) that they fly around the country to smaller airports. You can pay for flights in those and it's tax deductible. I flew in their B-17 (so has Tom Hanks) several years ago, it was FANTASTIC! To hear those engines roar to life, you can imagine what it was like leaving for a bombing run, knowing you might not come back. You can walk through the B-17 while it is flying, check out the bomb sight (what a view!), stick your head in the gun turrents and imagine ME's coming at you blasting away. I highly recommend it. It's about $400, but well worth it. It was like being a kid in a candy store. I tried to fly on another bomber this year, but the funds ran short.

Drive a Tank (Armored Combat Vehicle) at Texas Tanks

2nd best time of my life was driving armour vehicles while in the service ... Best time was watching the hogs eat my baby brother.
