It was pissing down on the day these were taken, just cleared as we got to the top and for Corn DDu, but then rained all the way back down. Did you do it with the forces?
Yes as part of Airborne training and basic Wales !!!

Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.

Often seen squaddies running about in all weathers up there. I twice spent every day for two weeks surveying parts of it for the National Trust, but at least I did not have to sleep up there, just in the wardens hq at Blaen Glyn.

Yeah......wouldn't you know it...went to an RTA involving a guy who came off a Hiyabusa (1200 miles on the clock, wearing FLIP_FLOPS......shell suit trousers and a t-shirt............that greasy stripe is how we found which hedge he was in! He lived too!1(Minus one foot, the other lower leg and half an arm!
I have been driving most of my live on the bike with flip flops...but not a Hiyabusa!!
We just got rules in Belgium forbiding it :-(

We HAVE in the UK too.........but nobody ever enforces it. It's also illegal in the UK to drive a car with flip-flops or sandals...........but loads do it in the "summer" - never heard of anybody getting done for it though!

Until last year its was forbidden to drive with flip-flops here also.
But since no one respected that law, they have revoged it.

Well the road traffic act states that " suitable or substantial footwear is mandatory" when driving a car/vehicle......but those two words are VERY ambiguous, does it mean that we have to drive wearing combat or Skiing boots.................or just what WE class as being suitable? I'm my opinion, ladies wearing high heels to drive a car is Neither suitable nor substantial, but most do. Having seen the mess that a car's pedals do to feet......I'm totally paranoid about it, a couple of MM of good leather can make a LOT of difference (try telling MY wife that though!!!!)
