"In all my years as a soldier, I have never seen men fight so hard." - SS Obergruppenfuhrer Wilhelm Bittrich - Arnhem
I was cleaning some drawers during the weekend to make some space and found this army related photos.
They were taken 15 years ago when i was serving in the army. I can't believe 15 years have already passed.

Hi Alex, it's made of cement, builted in the ground and it says: '' Our borders are, the shores of Kyrenia''
The garrison is established just before the buffer zone. The buffer zone is the area that the UN are controlling. In the north side the Turkish forces are established whilst in the south we have established ours. The meaning of the banner is that, we don't forget about what happened, we don't accept the Turkish invasion and we don't consider this buffer zone as our borders. We consider our borders to be the city of Kyrenia (is based in the north side of the island), which has been occupied by Turkey since 1974.

Thanks guys. The camo is a usual practise here. The post in the 2nd photo is an observation post. The inside looks like the post of the 1st photo. We use them to write down and report, the enemy's moves. i.e. drills, positions of armoured vehicles, garissons, etc

Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.
We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader
