For me it would also be my Grandfather, He joined the Royal Engineers in 1938. He saw service in the B.E.F. in Belgium and France, evacuated at Dunkirk. He then went on to serve throughout the Africa, Sicily and Italy campaigns before being demobbed in June 1945. I just never got the chance to have that beer.

    Hi Jerry B
I have just edited the post as I remembered he joined in 1938, It was his leave that was cancelled in the first week of the war.

I would like to meet & buy a 'Grande Jupiler' for my Great Uncle George , who 'died of wounds' inflicted at Nieupoort, Belgium, 28th May 1940, aged 20 & was subsequently buried in Depanne. My Nan adored him & his death affected her, throughout her whole life .
    Regards
    Paul
