    A bloke called Weary Dunlop, a brave and decent man who saved the lives of many Australian and British servicemen on the Burma railway.

    im gonna be soppy and say my grandfather Raaf Flight Sergeant Witts.
    Weary would be good too but not between 1942 to 1945 .

    I'm a bit soppy with Weary, I had two uncles - both brothers who were taken prisoner in Singapore, they both were forced labour on the Thai Burma railway.

    Only one got home mate, the other died on the Burma end of the railway.

    I've had the opportunity to do this already, with my father (USMC Ret 1945 - 1975) and my grandfather who was in the Dutch Royal Army and too was held in Burma Prison Camp.
