Less and less of these guys around every day. I love every chance I get to speak to a World War II vet. They will all be gone sooner than later sadly.

I was very sad to hear of Wild Bill's passing. I had the privilege to briefly sit down with him a few times at the Allentown, PA gun and militaria show. He was an amazing and kind gentleman. He always had time to chat with the public and had such a quick wit and sharp sense of humor. I'll always remember when he asked to see a Japanese sword I had... He waved it around and exclaimed in his South Philly accent: "Oh gawd! Oh geeze! I'm glad da Krauts weren't swattin' dese at our asses!"

    RIP Wild Bill Guarnere.
