Is it just me, or does anyone else feel disturbed that this Marine's Express Wishes were ignored and his sweetheart never given his diary as he had Specifically written out? Even when she Did finally see it purely by accident, the curator was "generous" enough to "allow" her to handle it in person, but then Only for a few minutes and only with white gloves on. Apparently, the family was on good enough terms with her to ask her to donate the Marine's Class Ring and other bits that she still had of his-which she generously Did, but decided to not even Mention to her about the diary or her extensive involvement in it-and ignoring the fact that he wanted her to Have it if he was killed? For Me, it kind of takes the luster off what Could have been a heart-warming story...
