    Note the US officers cap eagle front row left, these are said to be post WW2!

    You are right.
    After looking for a while I noticed very few are wearing ribbons.
    All are captains.
    I see 3rd from right 1st row an Armored officer wearing wings. My thoughts are he was a Liaison Pilot.
    I also see the Aussie guys on the back row.
    There is a mix of Aircorps, Infantry, Artillery, Coastal Artillery, Armored Officers collar brass, some numbered. 2 guys are wearing 103rd Division patches. That unit fought in Europe.
    It must be a training group of some sort.
    You are right friend 1st guy bottom row is wearing a 1947 style Officers Cap with the tan color band. Or it could be a 1930s prewar cap that had a lighter colored band. The bird appears to be the straight wing version that was popular with pilots during the war.
    A head scratcher.
