70 years ago today,Japan attacked Pearl Harbor, ultimately bringing America into the Second World War.
I should call this action my conception, because if it wasnt for this attack,America would not have come into the war (as early as they did anyway) and a Alabama Boy would not have come to our shores to meet a Queensland Girl and i would not have been born.
So thats a good reason to,
    Remember Pearl Harbor

I remember that day clearly. We were living in the Sacramento Valley and were all loaded in our 1940 Pontiac waiting for my mother. We were going off for a day at Muir Woods on the coast north of San Francisco. My Mom came out of the house and said to my Dad, "Richard, the man on the radio is saying that the Japs have bombed Pearl Harbor." "That's crazy," he replied. " It's just aonther Orson Wells radio fantasy. Get in." She did, and we went off to Muir Woods only to find the gate closed due to the National Emergency." Fortunately, my Dad's job speciality was "critical to national defense," and he was exempt from the draft throughout the war. Not so for many of my cousins who did go. Dwight
