I'm having a great day, 'won' a bit of webbing i've been after for twenty years, and bought a pile of papers for £1 .
In amongst the christmas cards, battleship prints, and a ww1 Service Post, was a real find:
Papers of Cpl Turner, 999th Port Operating Company Royal Engineers- the men who got the kit onto Sword beach on D-Day and beyond.
1) some money he picked up along the way.
2) 21st Army Group meal somewhere (anyone?).
3) Demob papers
4) paybook, will, RA to RE transfer record, and medal entitlement.
And the icing 5&6) Seaborne Navigation photos prepared by the Air Ministry for D-Day fallover!
