I like that, French patriotic posters always take my fancy.
There's a poster here French Resistance... | Louvat, R. | V&A Search the Collections by Louvat saying it originated in England so perhaps he did a number of them for the Resistance?
Something else behind the meaning of his posters but nothing on the man himself Homepage - Bernard Quaritch Ltd - Rare books, manuscripts & photographs
Hello Historyman,
Not my area of expertise, but I have found that Rene Louvat designed posters for the "Free French" Government in London during World War II and that your poster dates from 1944. He produced quite a number of posters as shown below:
Apologies for not being able to help further in your search
Best wishes

Free French Air Force Poster 1944
Thanks for the input guys
Its a large poster approx 100cm x 73cm
Some very slight fading but colours are very vivid, just a couple of small tears on the bottom edge where its been rolled up.
It states " PAR LES FORCES AÉRIENNES FRANÇAISES EN GRAND BRETAGNE ET LE SERVICE D'INFORMATION ALLIE"
I am thinking it was produced mid late 1944 after D-Day and the liberation of France
Cheers
