    Hi! I'm really interested in this auction, it is supposed to be 70 WW2 U.S. military letters. My question is, are they originals? I have only collected german feldpost so the U.S. military mail is new for me.

    Those in the photo all look legit. I do not know of are have I heard of any fake post marks on U.S. mail from WW2. Those in the photo look good. Good luck, hope you get them.

    None of the letters in the picture are faked, and to my knowledge no one is faking these kind of documents. A forger might want to fake a rare APO, V-Mail illustration, or vivid eye-witness description, but that would be more trouble than it's worth. Military letters were censored until the end of the war and, for this reason, the messages home can be rather disappointing if you are looking for detailed accounts of fighting. Look for letters written immediately after censorship was lifted and you might be rewarded with a "now I can tell you the whole story" type of letter which can be fascinating. Cheers, Uncle Paul
