Marine Pavilions Framed

Article about: Found this in the Goodwill on a top shelve, someone went to alot of trouble to frame it and mount it. Any ideas what this might be and if original? Thanks for looking!

    Found this in the Goodwill on a top shelve, someone went to alot of trouble to frame it and mount it. Any ideas what this might be and if original? Thanks for looking!

    Hi, Mike !

    Looks right up your medieval alley !

    Marine flags/standards colour plate. I know it looks 'old', but the problem
    is that the book it may have come from is still being published.

    With a strong magnifier, see if there is a 'dot matrix' pattern in the
    printing - similar to newspaper photos. This will tell if it's a
    reprint of an older plate........

    I wish I could get a better picture, but its hard inside glass, looks like its a page out of some old book maybe? Standby,

    Hard to tell Steve, I can see wood grain in the paper, don't know why someone would go to all the trouble to "frame" up a modern page, but you never know nowadays. I know someone spent alot of money on the frame for these, it is fancy!
