We have discovered a name and an address not sure if this is the building that burnt down or an old address. but here is a name if anyone knows of it.

    Mr.George A. Karpus 7622 S. Campbell Ave Chicago 29, Illinois

Any research on this name or anyone else in these pictures would be really helpful.

Thanks for showing these, great piece of history saved from the trash heap. Dave, I've seen the Ruptured Duck before too, I think it might have been in a movie.

checked on Google, The Ruptured Duck was one of Doolittle's Raiders but on a B-24, this one is a B-17. Possibly to honor the one that went down on the Japan mission??? Very interesting piece of history. Anyone have any more info? John

9th air force ground crew personell. Primarily air cover for ground troops. Always at the front and in the thick of things. Ground crews bounced across france to keep planes in the air at forward air bases.
