Default RAF Map Named to French Air Force Sergeant

This came with a load of other maps. It is the first one I have had that has been named and the fact it belonged to a French Sergeant makes it even more interesting. I have tried to find reference to the RAF base where he was stationed but cannot make it out. Obviously it was near Peterborough. Lines drawn on the map indicate that he made flights to Mildenhall and Cambridge among other places.

    Hi James,

It could be Wittering or Collyweston, is there any clues in the course lines plotted?

We shall stick it out to the end, but we are getting weaker of course, and the end cannot be far.
It seems a pity, but I do not think I can write more. R. SCOTT.

Unfortunately Ned, Peterborough is right on the edge of the sheet and the lines have been drawn past it onto the margin so I am guessing the airfield was just West of Peterborough

Possibly, the trouble is that I cannot read what is written down. I will look for French Air Force at Kings Cliff though. Cheers.
