Default Swiss diploma / certificate of world war ii !!!

    Hello to all..

i would like to share with you guys something quite special for me, itīs a sort of a diploma or certificate, that belonged to mi grandfather. He was a swiss soldier in wwII and participated in the so called "active duty", guarding the border against germans and other evil-doers that wanted to trespass it. I guess he got it in 1945, signed by our General Guisan. He passed away several years ago, so i could not ask him anymore.. Itīs a pity!

Translated to english it would say like this:

    Mobilisation of War
    1939 - 1945

"The army completed itīs duty. Through being on guard, it avoided the suffering of war to our country.
Soldier, faithful to your oath to the flag, you stood at your post. You deserve the gratefulness of your fatherland. Gereral Guisan"

Nice piece of family history, isnīt it ?

Extremely nice and something to be pround of Dan. Maybe your grandfather discussed his service with other living members of your family. It would be worth a try to see if any surviving aunts, or uncles might know more. Thanks for showing.
