Here is another fine group of medals, documents, photos and service books to an ATS Sergeant Laurie Hancock. There are a few original documents including one where she has informed her superiors of putting an ATS Private Gubby and a Lance Corporal Evans on a Charge explaining she caught the two of them in the Orderly Room and LC Evans was in bed. Another paper details her witness to an accident during vehicle parking where an unfortunate ATS became trapped between two lorries. By all accounts she was highly regarded during her service as her two service books testify. She had a brother also serving in the army and he is featured in one of the photographs. Again this is a wonderful group and one wonders how they became to be just another item in the auction house, its sad really but i think we as collectors have a great understanding of these things and through our efforts they wont be forgotten.

Hi Tim, again a nice group.

A couple of interesting things to be seen on her photo. She has cut out the ATS letters from a pair of slip on shoulder tiles and sewn them to the shoulder straps. We have seen this before, but it is not widespread practise. Also her drivers badge is worn very high up on the arm.

    Cheers, Ade.
