    Hi,

I am trying to identify the stamps on this passport, dating 1919.
    The issuing body? any ideas?

It was issued to Piotr Rotenberg, and would like to learn more about him during his stay in Odessa of 1919.

    Thanks,

Is this a Russian passport dating from prior to the TR period? Not sure why you have posted it here, perhaps the Soviet section might be better.
    Regards,

    Jerry

    Hello,

Are you sure it is soviet? Even if the date is 1919, it is still a russian passport if we consider the eagle. Fights beetwen red and white lasted some time...

    Hi,

You are right about the time and conflict. The passport holder was a member of the defence of Odessa, during the French occupation of the city.
I am trying to learn, via hand writings and applied stamps, who was the issuing authority of this passport...

    i speak russian.

this looks like a pre-communist era travel passport.
page 1: "24 page, travel passport" (24 страницы, заграничный пасспорт)
page 2: Belongs to Engineer Petra (first name in russian: Пётр)
Moiseyevich (father's name in russian: Моисеевич) most likely jewish
Rutezhberg (or Rutetberg? in russian: Рутежберг) ... cant read the rest

page 3: looks like the writing says "Odessa, March 17th, 1909" (Одесса, Март 17, 1919)
    page 6: not russian

The stamp says on top: Gradonachal'nik Goroda Odessa (Градоначальник города Одессы)
Gradonachalnik was like a Governor of a city and the surrounding lands. To my knowledge Gradonalachnik was personally appointed by Russian Czar...
