    Savonenkov seems like Finnish lastname, update to russian in the Imperial time, or early Soviet stages, converted from Savonen with added "kov"

    You are right on that Dimas. Savonen is a Finnish last name and this was a common procedure to do back then. I did some research on him and it seems that he was Karelian, so most likely with a part of Finno-Ugric and Russian ancestors.
