Short, concrete description of his feat of arms or accomplishments:

Lieutenant Colonel Litvinov has been commanding the regiment since its formation on September 5, 1942. Under his command the regiment became tight knit and well trained. The men of the regiment, while covering the troops’ combat formations, have displayed bravery and fortitude. Up until October 20, 1943 they have shot down or damaged 8 enemy aircraft. During the capture of Smolensk alone the regiment shot down 5 and damaged 2 enemy aircraft, namely 2 Fw-190s on August 31, 1943 at a crossing site near Kholbni; 2 Fw-190s on September 15, 1943 near Rubezhok-Novoselye; a Fw-190 was damaged on September 17, 1943 near Kazanka; and a Ju-88 was shot down and a Ju-88 damaged on October 13 and 14, 1943 near F. Usvaty and Zazerye. 4 of the enemy aircraft that were shot down were fighters, which the regiment destroyed using interdiction fire, thus saving the lives of our pilots and protecting our aircraft.

Lieutenant Colonel Litvinov imparts bravery and fortitude to his men through personal example. In the regiment 62 people have been awarded orders and medals of the USSR.

For successfully covering the troops’ combat formations and inflicting significant losses upon the enemy air forces, he deserves to be awarded the Order of the Patriotic War, 1st Class.

During the offensive’s preparatory period and the offensive itself, the regiment commanded by Lieutenant Colonel Litvinov reliably protected Army Base and Unloading Post Vydreya against air threats. While repelling a raid on Army Base Zaolma on April 4, 1944 the regiment shot down 1 Me-109.

During the offensive the regiment perfectly and efficiently carried out its assigned tasks of covering crossing sites, troop formations, and railheads.

On July 5, 1944 the regiment’s 4th Battery repelled a ground-attack raid carried out by 9 Fw-190s on a column of vehicles from the army staff. In the process the regiment shot down 2 Fw-190s.

Between June 29, 1944 and July 1, 1944 Lieutenant Colonel Litvinov oversaw the elimination of a large concentration of enemy forces near Chashniki, killing 60 and capturing 350 enemy soldiers and officers.

He deserves to be awarded the Order of the Patriotic War, 1st Class.
