Hi Matt, he is indeed Czechoslovak.
Cheers, Ade.
Actually, I have a former Czech Army cap, like seen in the photo, in my collection which was pressed in service with the Heer. Much Czech uniform and equipment was good quality and soon was used by the Germans for their still expanding forces.
Cheers, Ade.
thanks Ade, any idea about the breast badge? cheers Matt
I can tell you the uniform is the Blůza ČS vz. 30 . But I don't know what the badge is for? It looks like a gun in a wreath.
Cheers, Ade.
Hi Matt, me again! The badge I am certain is Slovak. As you will no doubt know, after the German annexation of Czechoslovakia, the country was broken up. The Slovak Army then had their own badges. I am now certain this is one of these. Have a look here for some very similar design badges:
JK Militaria offering Czech and Slovak militaria, badges, medals and insignia from WW1, WW2 and earlier.
Cheers, Ade.
Looks to me, like it could be the Czech 1940 rifles quals badge.
Boridin
I tried to magnify it without any significant improvement. The picture was taken in Bratislava so I guess Ade nailed it
