British Zone 1955 - Refugees from East Germany

Recently picked up this fascinating photo of young East German youths who had recently escaped to the British Zone 1955. Their face are whited-out before publishing to prevent them from being identified and their families remaining in East Germany being targeted by the communist regime. At the time young men in East Germany were in the process of being called up for military service.
