while I had my crappy camera out...

here's my 3 M70 helmets:

left - with M90 4 color woodland camo cover
middle - "traffic-controller's" helmet
right - with M87 "rába" 3 color camo cover

...also took pics of these Soviet items:

right next to the German "autumn camo" gasmask can - "pilotka" field-cap from 1950 (James, can you confirm that those markings are original?)



...and this item: some kind of "night-vision" or "ultra-violet vision" (??) with original batteries and pouch (unissued) - 1976 date on the batteries

THX! The "Rába m87" camo is actually based on the Hungarian WW2 "M44" camo - the Army have stopped using this camo in the early 2000, so they no longer in production since 2001 I think...I love that camo, and really focusing on M87 stuff now (I have some other items, I have yet to take pics of).

wonderfull line up of helmets fabe ,i always enjoy viewing steel pots ,even though the same the different colouration make each one individual, can i ask if the night vision battery has shown signs of leakage especially with its vintage age ,also the tanker helmet referance picture is very interesting the motorised infantry look to be on operational training ,the guy in the middle has the exact same model ive recently picked up but soviet issue ,nice wheel by the way ,you have a nice broad range in your collection

time for another update:

very pleased with this Hungarian M50 - fireman's helmet (as used in military bases and factories) with heat-proof silver paint on top of the green, rivet placements I've not seen before on an M50 helmet - similar to the German & Hungarian M35...probably due to the liner/chin-strap (looks like the liner/chin-strap of a Hungarian M35 fireman's/civil defense liner), which is also rare in this good condition (usually they are ripped and burned) - with a very nice pre-1956 ink stamp.
Size 4. (another thing makes this a rare helmet)

a cool basement find (looks unused) I would guess, for 16 EU.

Update:

An original print (not real painting) of "Lenin" in its' original frame - from the 1940s - 50s:


...goes well to an original "Rákosi Mátyás" (the feared Hungarian communist dictator from 1948-1956) propaganda photo (needs an original 1950s frame - I'm on it!)
Now, I just need "Stalin" and I'll have the "big 3" (during the "Rákosi Era", these pics were hanged in all official bulidings, like police stations, schools, etc. - big "Rákosi" picture in the middle, a slightly smaller "Stalin" and "Lenin" on each sides.)


...Well, this is "off-topic", but I also have an unframed painting (not print) of a young Hungarian soilder - dated 1915:

Hi Fabe many thanks for showing your M87 tri-colored (Rába) camo-patterned winter-coat I really like the camouflage pattern and am in the process of researching post war Hungarian camouflage so this is very useful to see, I look forward to seeing more of your fascinating Hungarian collection in 2015
