Default 1943 dagger. Is it real or a fake ?

I purchased this dagger at a local flea market. I can't find any history on it. Don't know if it's a fake or not. The blade was cleaned up and blued by someone previous to my purchase. The handles are aluminum and fastened with allen head screws. The handle is stamped "US 1943". Looks like it was done by hand as the numbers are misaligned. It's a single edge, 9.5" overall length with a 5.5" blade length. No other markings except what is stamped on the handle. Thanks

    Hi, Mwun, and welcome..............

'Allen' head screws were invented in 1911, and patented
    by Allen Manufacturing in 1943.

It is refered to as a 'Theater made' piece.
but I cannot say it is actually of the period.
    Regards,

    Steve.
