    Default Antique Am. Sword 1800s?

Hey my uncle got this from a pawn shop. Decided to give it to me. Um basically it is a damaged old American saber i guess. Is similar to m1860 but is likely the later model used in the indian wars. Anyone agree or diagree? The cap has been removed, and the blade is 32 inches long, the total sword is about 36 inchecs long. No markings anywhere. Basically I am asking what is it? and what is it worth?

    Thanks

I'll have to study it a bit. Most of your close up pictures are pretty blurry.

Can you make out any mfr's markings?

    Hello,
my best guess as a starting place for this swords, would a model 1872 light cavalry saber. based on what is left of the hilt. good luck.

It appears that the base of the blade near the hilt is under 1" wide and with the length being 32" I would say that it is a 1872. The 1860 was "usually" at least 34" and the width at least 1"

Foot Officer Sword would have a straight blade, Cavalry Sabre have a curved blade.
