Bayonets: one portuguese ww1 and the other vietnam war m-16

The first bayonet is a British Pattern 1907 bayonet for the SMLE. Used by the Portuguese Expeditionary Corps (Corpo Expedicionário Português, or CEP) which served in France in 1917 and 1918, equipped with British arms.

Hi, you should respect the other members opinions.
"Sleepwalker" only gave his, so i think this "sorry friend but i think you are a repro" was a bit unnecessary.

"VIZ" is a known period maker of the scabbards, but the metal parts were finished in a gray phosphate (as were some of the bayonets although they varied by maker and many are typically a darker or more black and crystalline/granular type of phosphate finish). So perhaps the scabbard was refurbished?? As for the bayonet we don't know the maker's name, but if those are phillips head screws attaching the grips, I (personally) would not be getting a particularly good feeling as to it being a period U.S. issue bayonet. And the way that the blade is ground suggests a later manufacture bayonet versus an earlier one. FP

There are some serious problems with that M7.
1-The radius on the blade's backcut/runout does not look Milspec even by more recent manufactures.
2-The cross guard looks thicker and the barrel ring looks too small(could be the photo try fitting on a milspec AR15/M16 to make sure).
3-The handle screws are wrong
I'm curious as to what markings are on the guard. Should be USM7 with the manufacturer below it if legit.
PS. It's proper designation is M7 not M16 bayonet. M16 is the rifle designation.

How can you tell the '07 SMLE bayonet is used by the Portugese? Does it have certain markings?
