inherited war time dagger

Hi, I wondered if you would help me find any information on this dagger. It has been in my father's collection from his father's collection so I believe it to be authentic. The only indentification on the knife is "CASE" as you can see. Thanx much.

Very nice knife, but the blade has been ground or cleaned.
It has a non grooved handle and straight guard, which
is rather rare, but I am sure these were made up
post-war for civilian sales, as it has no 'Flaming
Bomb' marking on the pommel.........
