    Thats something i didnt know, i thought all M3 Knives had the bent thumb guard

    This knife has been in my collection for 25 years and just saw that.This was another Normandy find.I look on the internet after I saw that and all the other ones were bent.

    Chris , look at the crossguard carefully, see if its been bent back straight as it looks like the thumb piece, the more pointed side could have been bent at one time

    I think you are correct,what I see is like a little line ,who ever did this did a good job.

    I thought so, its not worth trying to bent it back, i would assume it was done with heat application,trying now might put too much stress on the line and break

    Here´s an M3 trench knive, that was purloined by a vet, (Gebirgsjäger), in the town of St. Johann in Pongau, (Austria), out of the Jeep of an GI in 1945, (unfortunally this knive has been badly stowed in the tool shed of the veteran since then ...):

    Some very nice M3s posted here.

    I have a Camilus with a 1943 dated Viner Bros. m6 sheath.
    It is one of my favorite blades in my small collection.
