Default M1 Garand Bayonet Modified Into A Fighting Knife With Spiked Knuckle Guard

A friend of mine has this M1 Garand bayonet modified into a fighting knife with a spiked knuckle guard. He asked me to post it here to see if anyone else has ever seen one like this.

He thinks he has seen this knife in a reference book somewhere but not sure. If anyone has any info at all on this please let me know.

    Thank you,
    Steve

Can't say that I've ever seen one like it either, but I Like it. It's extremely well made.

I have a provenanced, beast of a WWI knuckle guard trench knife that is about that size. Your particular one looks like a well made custom fabrication.
