M3 trench-knife "good" or "bad" ?
Article about: Hi, there ! A collector´s-mate sent me some pic´s of his "M3". IMO this is more a repro, than an GI-issued war time-made original item ... What do you think ? Thx. in advance, R. B

Reibert I agree all the blade marked M3's I have seen are maker marked along with the US M3 maker then 1943. Then later just under the guard. Gary

Re: M3 trench-knife "good" or "bad" ?
This is indeed a REPRO ! - and it is in a rather common 'M8A1' scabbard
of the post war era with a metal chape on the tip !
U.S. 'M5' and 'M7' bayonets are usually associated with this sheath !
There are current repro M3's from Italy and China, and a decent remake
came from Camillus Cutlery sometime before they closed.
