Update on the bayonet. I have had it in a vinegar bath since the last time I posted and it has gotten a lot of crap off and made it sharper. I am going to upload a photo of the thickness of crap that was on it. A lot is gone but there is still more to get rid of.

Also forgot to ask is this bluing or is it a thin coat of old dirt and stuff?

The date on these bayonet are in the form 1'23 where the one is the month and the 23 is the year. I have seen a few with just a '23 date format with no month.

ok that is good to know but where is that date located, on the ricasso or somewhere else?
