Hello-as Adrian said, US M1917 type bayo-grips have been replaced prob by civilian owner as the service grips have 2 grooves on both sides of the handle parallel to the crossguard-these bayos were used in WW1 by the US army and again in WW2 (mainly for training) and were supplied to other allies such as Britain, the Free French, Nationalist China etc along with the rifles. The British P14 bayo is identical except for the property stamps on the blade as these were made in the US during 1916-17 for them by the same factories that made the US bayos 1917-19.

    A good buy for $16.............!

You can find original replacement grip panels and screws if you wanted
to 'restore' it, but I'm not sure of the button/spring assembly.
    Regards,

    Steve.

I would love to restore it. But I do not know where to find original WW1 authentic grips. Do you know how much this is worth now, and how much it would be worth if I bought new grips and a new spring?
