Remington M1917 Bayo with a P13 Scabbard
Article about: I picked up the set since the bayo is in nice condition. The bayo has the clearing hole which started in 1917. The scabbard is from a British pattern P13 bayonet. The scabbard lacks any mark

I just realized I put in the wrong forum. Mods please move if needed. My apologies.

Hi John, I think one is an Australian Enfield scabbard. I always thought the 'A in a star' was a Lithgow inspection mark.

Nice bayonet John. As Chris mentioned the star A is the early Lithgow acceptance mark. If you’re lucky the leather might still be marked lithgow and a year near the seam about halfway down. I’m looking on my phone but I don’t see any issue with the finish on your new scabbard.
