My neighbor asked me to possibly find out some info on this blade. I have not held it but do have access to it. I believe it to be a wall hanger from some tourist location. Any help would be appreciated.

Yup...just a decorator.

Likely a souvenir from India, though it is very crudely
made. It could be referred to as a 'Tulwar', but the
style of the brass grip is somewhat unusual.
