I believe the knights helmet is the logo for WKC.

Hi guys it looks similar (only in design and etch) the civil servants degen by WKC in one of there catalogues I have, sorry but that's the closest I can find as I am missing some of there other catalouge's hope this helps,

Looks like a diplomatic or court sword?
I agree, a court sword or state officials dress sword by WKC. But of a design I haven't seen before, I think not German service, I suspect one of WKC's export swords, possibly for South America. The unusual alloy pommel and finger guard was probably originally black.
If I had to a make a guess with a zinc (?) hilt it would be possibly a decorater's version of something like a Spanish rapier. Similar swords from Spain occasionally seen in faux antique stores, this one is unusual in that it has a German TM. Best Regards, Fred
