Default US bayonets, knife and cutters

I am not a collector of US kit but as you go around looking and buying other items often creep in. I have no information as to who the makers are or as to wether these items are rare, scarce etc although I cannot imagine they are anything other than run of the mill pieces. If anyone can give me any info on them it would be much appreciated. I have 3 live firing Garands so I know the bayonets will go on them. Please let me know what you think.

It's a good collection, the items are in nice condition. I have no information on the cutting pliers but for the bayonets here is a good and accurate online source:

    Bayonet Points

    Look under the following subjects:

    M1 Bayonets

    and

    M1905E1 Shortened M1905 Bayonets

For the blade marked M3 Fighting knife with the early leather scabbard you will find some information in Section 7 here:

    OKCA_1996

This is your best piece. The M3 has a large collector following, especially the early, blade marked specimens and the leather scabbard is not at all common. Hope all of this helps.

Great looking things you have there. I also have one of those fighting knives. The cutters are a great find. don't see a lot of those in my area these days.
Thanks for sharing these with us.

Very nice M3 set and the dated 10" M1 is also a good find.

The m3 is a fighting knife (the m7 is the bayonet for the carbine that is made off of the m3's design) and they are a bit harder to find now, the leather scabbard is more valuable and harder to find compared to the composite m8 scabbard that is very similar to your bayonets scabbards.
The leather scabbard is worth just as much as your knife if not more.
I just got my second Thursday and have yet to get one with a leather sheath.

Also as Relics said your 1943 dated bayonet is nice most in existence now are undated.

Actually, the bayonet for the M1 Carbine, which was styled after the M3 fighting knife is the bayonet M4. The M7 bayonet was adopted in 1964 for the M16 Rifle. The M7, like the M4 bayonet, used the same blade as the M3 Knife.

You have a very nice collection going there.
I really like the m3 fighting knife with the early m6 sheath.
    A great combination.

    Hello Damian,
A very nice M3 fighting knife!
I have heard this also. Here is my example from a different maker.
