Default US M3 Imperial Fighting knife

    Hello all,

I have been offered this M3 fighting knife. It is guard marked, making it a third series M3. All looks right to me but this would be my first U.S. blade purchase and do not want to spend to much. From the research ive done through previous M3 threads these seem to be more desirable knives, especially the early ones with the leather M6 sheath. This is one of the later M3's but still a cool knife. Any opinions would be appreciated!

Looks in great condition. These can be quite expensive, but 'Imperial'
are the most abundant maker it would seem, so you may do alright.
    ( $250-$300 ? ) Nice first type M8 scabbard as well.

Condition is very important in regards to price, but I've also seen
some worn and damaged M3's sell for rather a lot - perhaps
only due to being 'Aerial' or 'Boker' made, and blade
    marked/dated.........
    Regards,

    Steve.

Thank you for the replies. I am currently working to add this piece to my collection. Funny how things work out, just a couple days ago I was telling myself how I would really like to get into U.S. knives, now here is my chance. I will let you all know how it goes and if I acquire the piece I will post some better pictures.
