US Sword Identification

Does anyone know much about pre ww11 military swords?

Here are some pics, I have a hard time trying to narrow down dates.

Hi SAho,
the first sword is a model 1852 navy officers sword. normaly the grip metel is brass with gold gilting. yours looks to be in a silver color. possably a cadet sword. i did not see that you showed a makers mark for the sword. the etch on the blade looks poor from what i can see, and would expect to see a fouled anchor in the etching. i cant say if the sword is authentic, with out seeing more of it.
the second sword looks to be a Imperial Prussian infantry officers sword

Those pictures are not clear. The blade is very nice and the etching is very legible and nice. The pommel guard handle is brass. No maker mark that I can find, just the number 18 stamped on the scabbard on each of the 3 brass fittings. Would the star located at the top of the blade nearest the hilt have anything to do with maker?

They are both very nice swords and appear to be in good condition. I had an oppotunity to buy one of the prussian swords but had to pass as I didn't have the money at the time. I really like them. Nice find.

Hello I stumbled across this thread and thought I might try my luck on getting information on the sword in the pictures below. It has seen better days and is clearly a rank and file cutlass of some sort, but it has been in my family in Pennsylvania since the 19th century and no one knows where it came from. Any information and/or opinions would be most welcome. Thanks in advance.

It's a little earlier than I collect but my first guess would be an early 1800s if not possibly continental infantry hanger? Maybe some other members might be more familiar than I am.
