Default WW2 Camillus USMC fighting knife?

I have a knife which my uncle gave me when I was a kid. I have used it as my hunting knife for years, during this hunting season my buddy said that he thought that it was a WW2 Camillus USMC fighting knife. How-ever he said that the blade should be marked US CAMILLUS N.Y.,but my blade is marked U.S.M.C., CAMILLUS N.Y.( with no U.S.). With-out the US is it from WW2 or a post war piece?

The (blade) is marked USMC Camillus NY or the blade is marked USMC and
the cross guard is marked Camillus NY?

There is a 'how to' about posting photos. When you are able, please post pics
with the scabbard as well. It could very well be post-war.

Below is a WWII USN Mark 2 fighting/utility knife, with a blackened blade.
The grip is natural leather which has been polished. The crossguard is
marked 'Camillus N.Y.', which is accepted as late war.

Modern knives by Camillus are 'Parkerised', and have a dark brown
water-proof coating on both the grip and scabbard.........

The blade is marked on one side “U.S.M.C” and the other is marked “ CAMILLUS N.Y”.( with no U.S.).I see no marks on the cross guard. The blade is blued.-I still can’t upload any photos?

My book shows the "US" marked blades as being post ww2. Used in Korea and Vietnam.
I believe the one in question to be a good ww2 piece.

I was wondering if mine was a WWII knife or maybe a vietnam era knife it doesn't have anything stamped on the blade but on the cross guard i guess you call it. It has Camillus, NY and on the side of the guard it has U.S.M.C. With a leather sheath has 9 brass or copper staples. black looks to be blued and handle is black with 5 grooves.
