Default WW2 M1 Garand Fighting Knife

Well I was on the fence about buying this knife, but the price was reasonable so I took a chance. The blade has been shortened to seven inches and unmarked. The pommel of the knife is marked Ray J MC....the rest is unreadable. The grips are from what I'm guessing riveted to the knife. Any info on the knife is greatly appreciated.

Hello this is a cut down M1 Garand Bayonet what I find odd is that they have removed the us marks on the blade. I think the mark on the very top is the owners name which I have never seen before.
