Re: Russian photo with different suspenders
I am somewhat amazed to find suspenders being worn with a M43 Tunic. I haven't yet seen a photo of suspenders being worn was late as 1943. They are definitely a new style to my eyes, I have only ever seen the style where the belt is fed through loops.
Could this also be a photo of a soldier wearing a pre-war rucksack that snaps to the rings present on some ammunition pouches?

Re: Russian photo with different suspenders
I just noticed that there appears to be lack of a white collar lining sewn in as per regulations.

Re: Russian photo with different suspenders
and after your message, I looked again, and noticed the collar is adjusted to be smaller by moving the buttons to the right. I did that to a repro tunic and wondered if it was ever done, and it was.
thanks- many eyes make more discoveries!
