    Danger,
It was the one brought back by a Kiwi from the Soviet / Afghan war at the beginning of this thread. Exact match to mine from that era.

    Burt

I think there is a little misunderstanding. I didn't mean it's not a real soviet belt. I was critical to the story itself. Millions of those were produced and can be found easily all over the world especially in military warehouses in ex-SU. Considering the fact that Ukraine is getting rid of old soviet supplies, there are people that selling those on ebay for the last 10 years or so.
Baltic states sold it in one go 15 years ago to big mil dealers in US etc.

    Gday Danger,
    My unissued Soviet era belt.
As you can see yours is of much higher build quality.

    Rubberised canvas construction.
Not sure of it's actual origins but I think it may be a 2rd tier troopies (logistics, engineers, catering etc) belt. But as I say I'm not sure.
    Cheers mate.

    Nice one Dave.
    Looks good to me.
I know there is lots of surplus belts getting about.
It's hard to tell where they have been and where they came from.
But just having the belt is special to me.
It's 50/50 that the belt was used in the Afgan war, either way I can never know.
I will just have to take his word for it, with a grain of salt of course.
But I'm still happy with it.
