Model of 1932 - made postwar until 1947 I believe.
From the images, it appears the leather has been treated and the thread is an orange colour.
Is that correct?

I know all the sites that sell German stuff but I just started collecting Russian.
One of our sponsors: Original WW2 German militaria, WW2 Red Army militaria, WW2 Soviet militaria and more... is a reliable source - and this also, but limited: Collect Russia Collect Russia Soviet Russian

Depending on what type of oil was used to treat the leather, it could be "correct". When I use certain brands of Neatsfoot oil on leather, sewn with all natural cotton thread, the thread does turn an orangey color, so I would not necessarily say that is wrong.
