    It is my understanding that, unlike the U.S., British, or Germans, the Soviets did not have a set "standard" for colors, or shades of color for official equipment during the GPW. I am not sure how many colors the metal objects were painted in, but I am aware that there were at least 23 "acceptable" shades of color for the uniforms issued to the Army. These fabric shades ranged from a light tan (almost white) to a dark chocolate brown.

    I realize this isn't really an answer to your question, but it may give you some insight into the immensity of the issue you are asking about.
