    Default I have no clue

I came home from school yesterday, and my mom hands me it. She told me the guy said it was an ammo puch. I know it isn't, because it says fungus on the back. It was two bucks.

    The reverse says:
    'Fungus Proofed - Type 1 / Jaclin Manufacturing Company - 1945'

It is an unissued 'BOLT' bag, as the front side indicates,
but which firearm it is for I cannot say.............
    Regards,

    Steve.

Wow, that was fast. What is a bolt bag, if you don't mind me asking? I don't collect field gear, mainly edged weapons.

A 'bolt' is what is used to transport ammunition to the breech of a weapon
from a clip/magazine or belt, and also what holds the ammo inside
the breech when a weapon is fired.
A rifle bolt, for example can be removed for cleaning, storage, etc.

    Steve.

This sounds right for a pouch that looks like this.

Yeah I know what a bolt is. I wasn't sure if it was something else. Since it is dated 45' do you guys think it is post war?

It was made in WWII, but would be classified as unissued. It could be
from a machine gun, like the Browning M1919-A1, or some other
weapon that would be stored with individual components.

(I would bet there is genuine WWII equipment still in surplus,
and left in storage with the US Army today !)

    For $2 you can't complain.
    I like it.............!
    Regards,

    Steve.
