Is this 1942 British razor genuine?
Article about: I just picked up this Butler razor and wanted some opinions regarding the broad arrow and 1942 date. Thanks for your help!

Can't see why it wouldn't be geniune

Thanks Rene!
It looks genuine to me too, but I've just seen a lot of identical BUTLER razors without the military markings and just wanted to be sure they weren't added recently or anything...

The earliest I have seen in 1943 for the issue safety razors with the broad arrow marks...

I will see if I can find my late grandfathers records at some point over the next few days and check what he was issued when he joined up in 1939. I'm fairly sure that he was issued a safety razor and NOT a cut-throat. That's not to say that cut-throats weren't still issued.......QM's and all that!
Regards etc

That would be very neat to see Ian! I've always wanted to find a picture of an early dated safety razor!
