This is an American bandolier. From what I can read it appears to be for the Model of 1906 with ammunition manufactured at Frankford Arsenal. The information relates to the velocity at 73 feet of 2641 feet (fps) and loaded/packed April 6 1908. The printing and bandolier style is very early and follows on from the Cal .30 Model of 1898 ('30-40 Krag')

    Les ..
Many thanks for the update .....
It's good to have a positive ID.

Nice to know it is an early piece, .. I presume because of it's throw away nature, dated ones like this are thin on the ground.

    Cheers

My main interest is 303 bandoliers however I have developed an interest in the chits or data cards found in 30 Cal.,M1906,M1 & M2 ammunition bandoliers. Although I have no actual specimens, my information on these comes from the Internet forums/for sale, etc. I don't know when these cards were introduced but have seen them from late WW1 to late WW2 when they were replaced by printed info on the bandoliers giving quantity, type, maker and lot number.
With 303 bandoliers an interest is with the bandolier maker which is printed on the edge giving maker, mark no. and month/year and also the filling details/usage.
Lat WW1 30 Cal Model of 1898 bandoliers (from what I have seen) had a data card inserted and the over-printed details on the bandolier obliterated.

Just saw this thread...used .303 on bren and no.4 in army cadets 1980-81. I remember not being allowed to take bandoliers and a big bonfire of them at the ranges
